. This week I got to explore Google+ Communities and the many resources that can be found in these communities. I decided to explore what I could find on Music Education specifically. One of the first communities that popped up was the Music Education Nation (https://plus.google.com/communities/104885898443629071051). This was so interesting to me because there was 733 members. I decided to explore more that was in this community and I found hundreds of teachers in the United States joining together to build a better music world, asking questions, and sharing resources! One of the cool parts of this community is the discussions (https://plus.google.com/115836477056342779896/posts/aC1SK4YwQ9S)that you can have. For example, a teacher w as asking for help from fellow music teachers to help him evaluate his elementary music classes. I thought it was awesome how a music community could help other teachers find the resources they needed. Other great part of this community is there is constantly people posting resources, videos, and other blog posts to read to help them better their teaching. For example, a teacher posted another blog post that approached playing piano like learning a language (https://plus.google.com/+Applegatemusicstudio/posts/bMmyZceNdim). Another really interesting thing I found in this community was that there was even resources on how to use technology in music. Teachers explaining how they use iPads and google in their classrooms (https://plus.google.com/115037283397131249987/posts/RmxuypAQ8dZ). This community is so important for my classroom because they are creating new ideas, new inspirations, and even new research about the music classroom. With this I can meet teachers I would have never met and we could even Skype our class and performs each other and see how their class is different than ours and how culture influences their music. This is a tool that will have countless resources constantly pouring in and different oppurtunites to continue learning.
